Plumas Child Care

Mission

The Plumas County Child Care & Development Planning Council is committed to ensuring the availability of safe, affordable and high quality child care, early education and development programs throughout the county. This can be accomplished through education, coordinated planning, and advocacy efforts. The Council serves as a forum for parents, child care providers, agencies, educators, employers and the community. The Council acts as advocate, advisor and facilitator of public and private partnerships.

Purpose

• To determine local priorities for child care and development services
• To develop and maintain a comprehensive, countywide child care plan
• To seek and advocate for funding of child care services and programs
• To maximize child care and development resources through coordination and collaboration
• To promote public awareness of child care issues as an important part of family support services
• To advise the Board of Supervisors and the County Superintendent of Schools on issues affecting early care and education throughout the county
• To promote and enhance child care and development services through education of the public, early educators and child care providers as well as provision of support services
